SwapMyTicket now offers a simple, completely optional, escrow service. No more wondering if your tickets will
arrive in the post, and no more hoping you'll get paid for tickets you've sent in good faith. Ticket buyers now have the
option of parking their money with us and having that money released after they've received their tickets. And Sellers
have the option of keeping their tickets until we inform them that money from the buyer has actually been received.
It works like this:
Tickets sellers post their tickets for sale, or for swap, on the SwapMyTicket.co.uk website as usual for free.
|2.||By posting a ticket for sale, the Seller agrees that if our optional escrow service is chosen by a Buyer, SwapMyTicket will temporarily hold the payment from that Buyer. The payment will be safely and securely held by SwapMyTicket until 1) the Buyer confirms receipt of their ticket/s from the Seller with us via email at Support@SwapMyTicket.co.uk or 2) the Seller provides us with a delivery tracking link from the delivery company used so that we can verify ticket delivery ourselves. SwapMyTicket then transfers the Buyer's money to the Seller via our payment facilitator Stripe, minus a 5% service fee for handling the transaction. Note that we strongly recommend trackable delivering of tickets via delivery companies like Royal Mail or FedEx. If delivery is not trackable, the Seller relies completely on the honesty of the Buyer to inform SwapMyTicket that their tickets have been received.|
|3.||If our optional escrow service is not selected by a Buyer at the point of purchase, the Seller agrees to negotiate and organise payment and delivery of the ticket's themselves with the Buyer in good faith, and understands that SwapMyTicket cannot get involved in the process.|
|4.||By posting a ticket for swap, the optional escrow service is of course unavailable as no money is involved.
And that's it!
Note that it's entirely up to the Buyer which option he or she chooses, although we highly recommend our escrow service as the safest way to buy tickets. The Seller can also choose to use our optional escrow service if they wish. If a Buyer contacts a Seller directly to negotiate and organise payment and delivery of a ticket, that Seller can simply say that they prefer the safety and peace of mind provided by our escrow service. Both the Seller and the Buyer have TOTAL FREEDOM to chose how they wish to handle their transaction.
If you have any questions or comments about this service or anything else we do, please post them in our support portal at Help.SwapMyTicket.co.uk.
